I developed this website with two main goals: First, to promote the pay-it-forward concept which is something I have worked hard to incorporate into my personal life over the past few years. Second, I wanted to help teach people how to become more educated consumers and in the process learn to save money by using coupons.
Most people understand what pay-it-forward means but how many of us actually use it? There are people right now in your community that are in need of services and goods. These could be your friends, neighbors or just complete strangers. It is my hope that people who become involved in couponing and learn how to save money and stretch their earnings also learn the benefits of giving or donating some of these savings. This could take many forms. You could donate to a local community kitchen, donate to friends/family in need, give to a complete stranger or maybe start a pantry through an organization you are already a part of (church, sports, clubs, etc.).
So, I know what you are saying “I don’t have much to give, how could it possibly make a difference?” The answer is that you will never know until you try. One unfortunate side affect of our culture is the embarrassment that people feel when they are in need which may cause them to refuse to get help, even when they need it. Reaching out to these people can be a very rewarding and will allow you to ‘see’ the results of your efforts.
If you currently clip coupons and have wondered what to do with your old/unwanted coupons then take a look at this site where I outline (6) different ways that you can pay-it-forward with coupons:
One thing is for sure. Nothing feels better than knowing that you are making a difference in someone’s life. Even a small gesture can go a long way and will leave you feeling satisfied. Give it a shot, what do you have to lose?
