Not many people know that you can donate your expired manufacturers coupons to be used by our military families serving overseas. These families can then use these coupons for up to 6 months past their expiration dates. It is recommended that you only send coupons 30 days past their expiration dates to ensure that they are received, processed and delivered to military families timely enough to still be used (6 months after the original expiration date). This only applies to manufacturer coupons so please do not send store coupons (Target, CVS, Walgreens, Etc).
You may also adopt a specific family and send your coupons directly to them. There is a waiting list of military families looking to be ‘adopted’ and receive this service.
Lastly, military bases are always looking for volunteers to help cut, sort and distribute coupons to their base.
More information about the above services and instructions on how to get involved (where to send coupon, who to contact, etc.) can be found here.
This is a very cool service to help out our military families and a perfect way to pay-it-forward with coupons.
